It’s Christmas! Where has the year gone? Twenty minutes ago it was the Fourth of July, or at least it feels that way. Obviously I have been very busy and have neglected to send out newsletters in a timely manner. Now with the year winding down and expecting the workload to drop so I can catch up with them, I’ve had somewhat of a burst in business activity and do not have the time actually to catch up. But, I will do so anyway. (I am the boss after all.)

I can finally tell you about a product, that I have been working on for quite some time, has finally been launched. It is called “LilyJax.” It’s a combination styling brush with a built-in reservoir and spray applicator. It solves the problem of not having three arms to work with. Normally, a hair stylist will use one of the circular brushes when styling hair and have a spray bottle to spray on whatever liquid they want to apply. Then they put down the bottle and pick up the hair dryer to continue styling the hair. Then, put down the hair dryer, pick up the spray bottle, spritz, put down the spray-bottle, pick up the dryer, etc, etc. With the LilyJax, they style and spritz with one hand while operating the dryer with the other. It has a circular trigger that allows the product to be sprayed while holding the brush in a position that is most comfortable for the hair stylist. It saves them a lot of wasted motions. Although not yet up on my website, I will have a promo picture of it posted there in early January. Look for it on <www.EngineeringDesignSolutions.com>. It is a really neat product.

Other new (and some very clever) products are in various stages of development that will eventually lead to production and public release. As you all know by now, I am not at liberty to discuss the details of anything still being developed. These products cover the range of fields from consumer and commercial products to the sporting goods and fitness industries. I will be hitting the deck in 2014 with the tires smokin’. This is just how I like it.

Looking back on the year, it has been a rather successful one, with referrals from existing clients resulting in new clients coming on board and new projects from those I have done business with in the past. It is really great to have such a wide variety of industries to do work in. It definitely keeps me sharp while eliminating the boredom from working in a one-industry company that has a limited or even a single product line. (Been there, done that.)

In my last newsletter I was stressing the importance of continually promoting oneself and one’s company or business. And yet, here it is over 5 months later since my last newsletter. This is a perfect example for me to tell you that you should do what I say and not what I do. As one of my New Year’s resolutions, I will really work to get out a newsletter at least every other month, if not the more ideal frequency of every month. However, as I am sure you will agree, taking care of clients is far and away the first order of business.

So, I will end off now by giving you, your associates and especially your families and loved ones, my very best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Let’s make 2014 an all-around winner.
