CAD Basics

It looks like the winter weather we have been experiencing is finally starting to let go.  Perhaps we will have some real spring weather shortly.  Mind you, I am not complaining, having originally moved here from the north-east many years ago.  They have really had a rough time of it so far this year.

Ahhh, springtime; it’s the time of the year for new beginnings.  With the economy showing signs of moving upward, getting those ideas for new or improved products ready for market is a good business decision.  I can help you do exactly that.

My greatest area of expertise is in creating components, sub-assemblies and final products, starting only with verbal discussions and “cocktail napkin” sketches.  (See the PDF file attached that has some comments from clients.)  I know what questions to ask, in order to assist you to crystallize your thoughts.  By getting you to specifically spell out exactly what you want, I can then take those ideas and convert them into real, electronic, 3D “parts” from which drawings and ultimately physical components can be made.  Not only can I electronically assemble the components, I can also have them move, relative to each other, to simulate how they will interact in real life.  This is especially good to make sure that collisions between various components do not occur.  (You definitely do not want to find that out after a prototype, or, worse yet, production parts are produced.)

So, put on your thinking cap.  Get out those notes and sketches for products you want created or customized.  You want to be ready to deliver when things really get moving.  Starting now is prudent.  Waiting until things get hot to start developing your new product will result in lost sales.
